Solid Waste Steel Slag Transformed into Premium Building Materials

One month ago, a steel enterprise in North China sent a batch of steel slag samples to the Quangong Laboratory, seeking a viable solution to convert industrial solid waste into building materials. As a byproduct of steel production, steel slag has long posed challenges for resource utilization due to its complex composition and poor stability. Upon receiving the task, the laboratory immediately assembled a dedicated team. Leveraging Quangong's years of technical expertise in the field of non-fired brick machines, they commenced the technical challenge.


During the experiment, the technical team fully leveraged the technological advantages of the Quangong non-fired brick machine. They adjusted the vibration frequency, forming pressure, and curing process specifically for the characteristics of steel slag. After repeated trials, the optimal mix design was finalized: incorporating 40% steel slag content, combined with specific proportions of auxiliary materials and additives. This successfully produced concrete blocks meeting strength requirements and exhibiting excellent durability, fully complying with building block standards.

This successful development not only resolves the challenge of recycling steel slag but also reaffirms the technological superiority of Quangong brick-making equipment.
